Lorrie

I wrangle all that is trabant. And make awesome coffee. And throw cups in the air, but only paper ones, cuz ceramic ones break. And my latte art is dope. I like good beer. And good food. And good coffee (duh!!). And good wine. And good music. And good friends. I'm a wife. And a mommy (3 almost teenagers, OY VEY!!). I'm a cat person, and the best whistler in the world (so I've been told....). I know all the words to Ice Ice Baby, and nearly every song reminds me of a movie I saw in the 80's.

Lani

Barista, Barista-Wrangler, Syrup-Slanger. Moved to Seattle from Honolulu in 1998 to work in coffee shops while pursuing a BS in Psychology. Bounced around the nonprofit sphere for a hot minute before easing back into the coffee world. I like good books, rough shows, craft cocktails, cold-brewing coffee in liquor, and writing dinner menus based on MFK Fisher essays. I once dressed up as Marguerite Duras for Halloween. The following year, I dressed up as Tura Satana. I play the clarinet and the harmonica, and my scrambled eggs -- and my cappuccinos -- will make you weak in the knees.

Thad

Thad blew in to the Emerald City from America's heartland in 2009. He has been in kitchens all his life - baking with his Grandmother from an early age, cooking professionally in high school, even while earning a film degree from the University of Kansas. Thad loves food. When not in the kitchen - he enjoys drawing, listening to records, making plants grow, and doing his part in the ongoing wars over Xbox Live.

Neil

Neil moved to Seattle in November of 2010 to experience the Seattle coffee community. Before that, he was in NYC, where he co-founded TampTamp, a company that provided consulting and barista services. He has traveled the world learning and teaching about great coffee. He is a US Barista Competition Certified Judge, has also been a competitor, and is a Barista Guild of America barista certification examiner and a credentialed Lead Instructor for the Specialty Coffee Association, where he also sits on the Professional Development Committee.

Bex

Favorite coffee; La Mirella Honey processed, from Olympia Coffee Roaster. Off of the Las Lajas co-op Most people don't know I have an ass tattoo, of a skull and cross bones. Or that I have a Pure Mathematics degree. Or that I knit. And ride an old Harley. Also, roaster should be going soon. Like within a month.

Jacob

I grew up at a coffee house, a pretty darned good one. I slowly eased into working in coffee about 4 years ago, starting at milk-n-sugared coffee and working up to black coffee, espresso and cappucinos. Besides coffee, I am obsessed with learning. I LOVE knowledge; give me a history book and I won't stop reading. I am crazy about music. I am a fan of metal and punk, and dubstep, but I am not afraid to try any kind of music. If it's good, it will make me smile. I play synth, and am learning bass. I am planning on getting a degree in History, music, and/or anthropology. If I am not working, I tend to be day-dreaming about shows, concerts, and playing music if I can't play it right at that moment. Or drinking coffee. Or both.

Adam

Hi. I love travel, film, design, adventures, and being a smartass with my friends. Coffee, food, and things that are probably still illegal in most red states make me happy. I'm not highly competitve, but I love being a part of a team and kicking ass. If you want, I'll make you a drink but don't get TOO crazy - that's our job.

Scott

I am a lover and a fighter. I resist all forms of colonization and oppression, both internally and externally. I practice the principles of self-organization and self-discipline, mutual-aid, and cooperation. Some of my favorite things include mountain biking, skiing, drinking coffee, cooking, reading, and creating community.

Pierce

Pierce Young: Philosopher. Pierce grew up in Hawaii, where his passion for coffee fueled him through college at the University of Hawaii. At 19, Pierce found himself drawn to the Emerald City where he would begin his journey into specialty coffee. Now, 24, Pierce has built and fixed espresso machines, imported and sold coffee equipment and accessories, and competed in the Northwest Regional Barista Championship. Outside of coffee, Pierce can be found working on or riding his bicycle, rock climbing, or playing badminton.

Alexis

Alexis is currently a graduate student in the Department of Human Centered Design & Engineering at the University of Washington. She loves singing, coffee, conversation with strangers, playing board games, and Star Trek. More information about Alexis can be found at http://www.alexishope.com.

Jennifer

She moved around a lot as a child, until her family eventually ended up in Idaho, where her love of coffee and dance were nurtured. She has worked in various cafes for the better part of 10 years. When she is not slinging shots or baking tasty treats for Trabant, she is working on finishing her dance degree at the University of Idaho, fantasizing about bacon (which, thankfully, her husband Brain does not mind), and being a proud pet parent to her two cats (Cooper and Nicodemus) and muttly dog (Indiana Jones).

Robert

Could roast coffee just by looking at it sternly. Robert moved to Seattle in the spring of 2011 with a duffelbag of clothes and a handful of dreams. A year later he's still fighting the good fight with a well worn passport and a healthy appetite for competition. Come say "sup" for a delicious drank and a man sized hug.
